Potentially lethal toxin. Model organism for understanding dermonecrotic envenomation (sphingomylinase D). Focus of research to understand neurotic fractions in venom. Provides appropriate phylogenetic sampling across diversity of order Araneae. Easily obtained from colleagues in Oregon.
